Pallas cat A wild inhabitant of the steppes and foothills, a ruthless predator with a charming face and the fluffiest fur, Pallas' cat, whom everyone dreams of stroking, but, fortunately, this is rarely possible for anyone. According to scientists, the manul as a separate species appeared on the planet about 12-10 million years ago. His ancestor, as well as the ancestor of all domestic cats, was the dinikt - a mammal with thick long hair, short tail and powerful paws. From the dinikt, the felines were divided into large and small cats, and the Pallas' cat remained in a transitional stage - he did not learn to growl like big cats, but he did not become an ordinary wild cat, retaining a round pupil, like, for example, lions. Pallas' cat is a separate, one might say, relict species of felines.
