1. By the 1820s mass movement for Irish sovereignty has started.
2. After about century of relative peace, there were numerous violent uprisings, the Irish Free
State was created within the British Empire.
3. In 1948, most of Ireland became an independent country.
4. Less than 10 years later many of those laws were overtumed, but Ireland still wanted
freedom
5. While six mainly Protestant counties in the northeast remained a British territory.
6. We can say that it all started with adopting British laws unfair to Catholics.​
