At first, people should become aware and start to watch what they're doing. Instead of using plastic bags, we should give preference to cloth bags. Stop throwing away garbage anywhere and ideally to sort trash. It'll be significantly useful.
I try not to use plastic stuff and take my bottle for the drinks. And use reusable plastic packets that I already have in markets. It's much better than merely throwing them away and making it worse yet. Sadly, regarding sorting garbage, we don't have a special place in our city for that. But I try not to use stuff that can't decompose.
I want people to become more aware of regard to the environment. In any case, we a part of it and not be able on our own. Provided everyone will understand that, then problems with nature would be much less.
