One day Tom went home from school. Suddenly, he saw some girls, who were standing in a circle and shouting. There was only one girl who did not shout, she was crying. Tom felt sorry for her and asked the girls to stop. So, the girls ran off.
When the girls disappeared, the girl smiled. Ann, that was the name of the girl, asked Tom to walk home with her. Tom agreed and when they walked, he discovered that they had a lot in common. Both of them were shy and liked reading books. They also had some similar hobbies such as drawing and playing some musical instruments.
When they came to Ann’s house, Tom knew that it was friendship. Although he never thought that, he needed a friend. Even at school, he preferred to sit alone and he never joined in with other kids. They wondered about him first but soon ignored him.
In the end, Ann and Tom became good friends.
