Martin is an old friend of mine. I first met him at school when we were eleven. We (1) really well. In fact, he was my first boyfriend - I (2) with him for six months when we were fifteen. They split up because Martin moved back to the UK, but Dorota wanted to stay in Poland. They didn’t fall out with each other — they're still friends and they keep in touch by email.
